Therapy and Counselling
Powerful methodologies to help you in your journey.

Somatic Psychotherapies
Soma means ‘body,’ and our bodies are truly incredible. They function as sophisticated emotional intelligence systems, with millions of neurons constantly interpreting and responding to our environment.
Research over the past 30 years shows that overwhelming experiences can create powerful bodily reactions that get stuck if we don’t feel safe to process them. Our body holds onto these memories as if the event is still happening, triggering intense reactions when similar situations arise.
This is why somatic work is essential for healing. Many of our reactive patterns were formed in childhood as coping mechanisms, and somatic therapy helps release these deeply held responses.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you accept what’s beyond your control and commit to actions that create a fulfilling, meaningful life. By clarifying your values and developing practical strategies, ACT empowers you to overcome the thoughts and feelings that hold you back.
As ACT pioneer Dr. Russ Harris explains, this approach helps you:
a) Build psychological skills to handle difficult emotions and thoughts, reducing their hold on you.
b) Identify your core values—how you want to live and connect with yourself, others, and the world—and use them to inspire meaningful action.
c) Stay present and fully engaged in what truly matters.

Gestalt Therapy
Gestalt Therapy, developed by Fritz Perls, is a powerful, experiential approach that emphasizes healing through the present moment. Rooted in the principle that our past is expressed in how we experience life today, Gestalt invites us to bring awareness to what is unfolding right now. By staying present, we can uncover and meet unmet needs from the past, fostering deep and lasting transformation.
Central to Gestalt is the therapeutic relationship, which serves as a safe, supportive container for exploration and growth. This approach helps you notice patterns in how you connect with yourself and others, encouraging a gentle, non-judgmental curiosity about your experiences. By embracing this awareness, you can begin to make conscious choices that align with your authentic self.
Gestalt Therapy forms a strong foundation for somatic work, as it teaches us to listen deeply to the body’s wisdom and engage with our emotions in a grounded, embodied way. It’s a dynamic process that integrates mind, body, and spirit, empowering you to break free from old cycles, connect more authentically, and live with greater vitality and presence. Whether you seek personal healing or deeper relational awareness, Gestalt offers a compassionate path toward wholeness and growth.

Therapy in Motion
Therapy in Motion focuses on helping us increase our awareness of how emotions feel in our body and how to trust our body to process those emotions in healthy ways.
We learn how to feel safe in our body, to feel safe feeling sensations, so we can learn to listen to what we are feeling without getting overwhelmed. We can then follow the body’s wisdom in resolving emotions that are stuck in the body.
I am an Open Floor Movement Teacher with a speciality in Therapy in Motion (a component of Open Floor Movement Practice).
Therapy in Motion assists the creation of new neural pathways that settle the nervous system as we move our body in new ways that are in alignment with our biological wisdom and emotional experience.
The process involves starting from what we feel in our body in the present moment and how it wants to move our body. It’s about getting to know what it feels like to be at home in our body and how it can lead us to healing. Therapy in Motion often includes music.
